Christiane Bernier, Country Manager, Lionbridge Canada Blogging about Localization Operations
I run Lionbridge’s Canadian Operations, out of Montreal, managing a team of people who help our customers get their content localized successfully. For me that means getting teams of people to put together smart solutions for our customers. I’ve worked with Lionbridge for close to 8 years, in the US and Canada, and have been in localization for about 16 years.
I have a BA and MA in French Literature from McGill University and the University of Minnesota, where I continued into Comparative Literature and Philosophy of Language and am proud of my ABD title. My interests are eclectic, but these days center around a few themes: the elegance of well-designed simplicity, people watching and personality typing, cultural misunderstandings that occur in everyday conversations, and what I would describe as the warp and weft of paradigms and their assumptions. Oh, and when I’m not musing about these topics, I enjoy looking at the world through the perspective of my 6-year old daughter and must admit to thorough knowledge of all the Barbie movies there are, along with things pink and sparkly: what a paradigm shift that is! You can contact me at Christiane(dot)Bernier(at)Lionbridge(dot)com. I look forward to hearing your thoughts!

Kathleen Bostick, VP Global Marketing and Business Development Blogging about Translation and Global Markets
I run the global marketing team at Lionbridge focused on driving revenue growth throughout the organization. I enjoy exploring all of the new ways to use social media as part of our marketing efforts. I like the idea that marketing should be a dialog with our clients and I hope that this team blog will facilitate those two-way conversations. I’ve been with Lionbridge for almost 5 years and in the translation industry for over 14 years. I serve on the Localization World advisory panel and participate in developing the conference program.
I live in Plano, Texas, and I love spending time with my two grown daughters, husband of 27 years, and three dogs, Rocky (a scottie), Hailey (a westie) and Jake, a newly rescued yorkie puppy. I’m famous for my homemade desserts where my motto is, “if it doesn’t have chocolate, it’s not dessert.” You can follow me on www.Twitter.com/Lion_MkgtVEEP or email me at Kathleen(dot)Bostick(at)Lionbridge(dot)com.

Jim Compton, Director of Technical Services Excellence Blogging about Innovation
As part of Lionbridge's Quality and Innovation group, I drive initiatives which push our technical services function along a trajectory of "better, cheaper, faster." I've worked for Lionbridge for about 12 years and am located in Boulder, Colorado, USA. I have worked in the localization industry in some capacity for the last 15 years and have a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Colorado at Boulder (go figure). I'm a new, first time father of a ~1 year boy; when not changing diapers or cleaning Cheerios off the floor, I play the Commodore 64 bass for the video-game rock band, Mr. Pacman. Hope that I'm able to this spark some engaging conversations with this professional blog; I think that it is important for everyone to regularly reach outside of their own company for professional conversation. Nice to make your acquaintance! Please feel free to email me at Jim(dot)Compton(at)Lionbridge(dot)com.

Lee Densmer, Solution Architect Blogging about Translation and more...

I'm a Solution Architect, which means I act as a liaison between Sales, Operations and the client. I figure out what the client needs and the best way we can deliver.
I've been with Lionbridge for 6 years; some of my special areas of expertise include controlled language/authoring, Romance languages, linguistics, machine translation, language quality, and community translation. The translation industry is going through constant change which is why I remain so interested in it. I am especially intrigued by web 2.0 and the phenomena of social networking and community translation. Language acquisition and linguistic change (dialects) are also key interests of mine. I have a BA in Professional Writing, a BA in Spanish/Secondary Education, and an MA in Romance Language Linguistics.
Outside of work, I like to run, cook, read, spend time with friends, listen to and play music, travel and do anything outdoors. I love living in Boise, Idaho, with my 4 year old son and husband, and have lived here most of my life.
